9/10 October sees the Semi-Permanent design conference heading to Melbourne. As always there is a great mix of international speakers offering up a more colourful mix than many of the more serious design related conferences on the annual calendar.

a space to collaborate in

F/F is presently involved in setting up a new collaborative studio space in Melbourne on Chapel St. Previously run as a gallery the space will exist as a collective studio working in partnership with some really interesting digital, creative, coding and strategic practitioners.

The space is a couple of weeks away from launch but we are very excited and can’t wait to show you some pictures.

Modelfeed Goes Live

F/F have been working very closely with our friends The Royals and new friends the Disciples on the launch of Modelfeed – a behind the scenes’ multi author blog from the top models at Chic (Australia) and Next (USA).

A little quote from Dave King at The Royals put’s it like this “Recent times luxury brands getting in front of an aspirational audience (girls 13-28), a platform for the promotion of models to help them have conversations with their loyal followers. And yes, a source of hot new talent as well as existing talent on the rise.”

F/F is keeping itself pretty busy at the moment with a number of projects all coming to ahead in the next few weeks & months.

We are working on a new site and SEO project for Ambisol to help them take advantage of new business being generated by the latest Federal Government rebate on home insulation.

A number of projects with our good friends at White Labelled have been underway since Christmas including an very exciting major launch due in the coming months.

Continued projects for some of our favourite clients including Just Magazines and anzuk* have also been keeping us busy in the past few weeks, some of which will be announced on the site in the coming weeks.

And finally we have been working on a great little multi-author blog site -’Modelfeed’ – with The Royals and Disciple for the model/fashion community – this little beauty (pardon the pun) will be dropping soon and everyone involved is expecting it to make a big splash in the fashion new sector.

GCC 2008 website chosen as Adobe showcase ‘Site Of The Day’

The Global Corporate Challenge (GCC), is the world’s largest corporate health initiative, it’s aim is to promote activity within corporations around the globe.

For the 125-day event, employees wear pedometers and measure their daily step count. They then enter those steps into an event-specific website to embark on a virtual journey around the world. Used daily by more than 50,000 participants across three continents, F/F were asked by Flash Group to develop the online direction for the 2008 version of the site which incorporated an integrated Flash and Javascript framework.

Built and developed by the in house team at Flash Group the final site presented a great example of seamless technology integration.

We’re very pleased to announce that Adobe have chosen the site as today’s ‘Site Of The Day‘.

A big well done to everyone involved.

MacBook Touch??

Over at MacDailyNews the big rumour of the day is MacBook Touch by October. Yes this is Apple’s secret product, and it’s all but ready to ship at a low price point to flood the market.

More interesting mock-ups for how the product could look over at Gizmodo. If this has been done well this really should be more than just a gimmick product for sure.

Function/Form goes mobile

We have set up a basic mobile version of the blog – using MoFuse. It’s a free mobile site generator and is very easy to sign up to and set up. If you are running blog or similar with feeds these can be directed straight to you mobile version. You can also easily create your own pages and play with basic styling etc.
